Where to Play Pickleball in Atlanta (The 2026 Edit)

Atlanta's pickleball scene is exactly what you would expect from a city that lives and breathes tennis: highly organized, very competitive, and surprisingly lush.

Because the city is built into a forest, the outdoor courts here are some of the most scenic in the country. You're almost always playing under a canopy of old-growth trees. But as anyone who has spent a summer in Georgia knows, the humidity from June through August is no joke. That's why the indoor scene is rapidly catching up, with high-end "compeateries" (their word, not ours) leading the charge.

Whether you want a casual game in a neighborhood park or a highly competitive indoor match followed by a craft cocktail, here is exactly where you should be playing in Greater Atlanta right now.

The Premium Indoor Scene

When the Georgia humidity reaches 100%, these are the only places you want to be.

Painted Pickle

279 Ottley Dr, Atlanta, GA 30324

This is Atlanta's premier high-end pickleball venue, located right in the SweetWater brewing district. They call themselves a "compeatery" (competition + eatery), and they deliver on both fronts. The facility features professional outdoor-style surfacing indoors, built by Signature Tennis Courts. The vibe is incredibly social—you can play your matches and then immediately transition to the bar or the gaming space. Court reservations are highly recommended because this place is constantly packed.

Pickle and Social

Gwinnett County

A massive indoor/outdoor complex that combines world-class courts with gourmet dining and live music. If you live in the northern suburbs, this is your mecca. It's designed to be an all-day destination rather than just a place to sweat for an hour. The courts are pristine, and the food is actually worth staying for.

Grant Park Recreation Center

537 Park Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312

If you want to play indoors without the premium price tag, the Atlanta Parks & Rec centers are your best bet. Grant Park offers four indoor courts. You're playing on a classic gym floor, so the ball bounces a bit differently, but the community here is fantastic and deeply rooted in the neighborhood.

The Classic Outdoor Parks

Atlanta is a city of neighborhoods, and the best outdoor pickleball happens in the public parks.

Shaw Park

800 Shaw Park Rd, Marietta, GA 30066

Up in Marietta, this is the heavyweight of outdoor public play. They have an incredible 11 outdoor pickleball courts. Because of the sheer volume of courts, your playing-to-waiting ratio here is much better than at the smaller city parks. The level of play ranges from total beginners to serious 4.5+ players.

Hammond Park

5909 Glenridge Dr, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

Six outdoor courts in Sandy Springs. This is a very active, very organized community. The courts are well-maintained, and it's a great spot if you work in the Perimeter area and want to catch a game immediately after logging off.

DeKalb Tennis Center

1400 McConnell Dr, Decatur, GA 30033

Six lighted outdoor courts. If you live on the east side of town, this is one of the most reliable spots for evening play. The lights mean you can actually play after the sun goes down, which is crucial during the shorter winter days.

McClatchey Park

E Park Ln NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Located in Ansley Park, this is a much smaller setup with just one designated pickleball court among the tennis courts. It's not a destination court, but if you live in the neighborhood, it's a beautiful, shaded spot for a quiet weekend game.

Newtown Park

3150 Old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30022

Six outdoor courts in Johns Creek. This park is massive and incredibly well-funded. They even have a nearby dog park, so you can tire out your golden retriever before you hit the courts.

Post-Match (The Important Stuff)

You played. You sweat through everything you own. Where are we going?

For the Aesthetic Caffeine:

If you played at Painted Pickle or anywhere in West Midtown, head straight to BRASH Coffee. They roast their own beans and the aesthetic is perfectly minimalist. If you're playing down south or near Grant Park, Portrait Coffee in the West End is essential. They are pouring incredible specialty coffee with a mission to reimagine the history of coffee through the lens of Black excellence.

For the "We Earned This" Brunch:

If you're in the Old Fourth Ward, Staplehouse is the ultimate move. They transitioned to a more casual market/cafe model, which means you can walk in, order an incredible sandwich or pastry at the counter, and sit in their beautiful garden. It is Michelin-recognized food without the white tablecloth pressure.

For the Evening Wind Down:

If you played a late game at Piedmont Park or Ansley, head to the patio at Park Tavern. It's an Atlanta institution for a reason. Great views of the park, cold beer, and exactly the kind of casual energy you want after a match.
